A gnomish village experiences chaos when their cook Buttercup introduces a new mushroom-butter recipe that becomes wildly popular for its taste but creates a disastrous problem: the butter acts as a powerful adhesive, gluing gnomes to whatever surface they sit on. The affliction spreads throughout the community as more gnomes consume the butter, resulting in villagers becoming stuck to chairs, benches, and various other objects around the village.
Elder Bramble, the village leader, takes charge of the crisis and initially consults with an inventor who proposes impractical solutions including lemon juice baths and coating affected gnomes with feathers. Dismissing these absurd remedies, Bramble goes directly to Buttercup to investigate the source of the problem. Through their examination of the recipe and ingredients, they discover that a goblin tear was accidentally added to the butter mixture, which caused the magical adhesive properties.
Bramble and Buttercup collaborate to develop an antidote by preparing a new batch of mushroom-butter without the goblin tear, then mixing this normal butter into the contaminated batch to neutralize its sticky effects. The two then embark on a village-wide effort to apply the antidote, going from location to location to unstick each affected gnome. Their solution successfully frees the trapped villagers, who express their gratitude as normalcy returns to the community.
