With dawn breaking over the battered Great Torath, the heroes gathered in the main hall, the embers of the night’s battle still glowing in the hearth. Eldan the Wise stood at the head of the table, his staff resting across his knees.
“We cannot face the darkness alone,” Eldan said gravely. “The Dragon King’s shadow spreads, and the Night Riders will return. We must seek allies and knowledge if Eldoria is to survive.”
After much debate, the company agreed to divide their forces to cover more ground and rally support:
Peter, Shade the Silent, Kaelis the Bold, and Eldan the Wise would journey east to the Library of the Ancients, a fortress of knowledge surrounded by a turquoise lake and guarded by wise mages. There, they hoped to find secrets and magic that could turn the tide.
Thalion the Genius and Durnan the Relentless would travel south to Ironfen, the Gremlari capital, and then to Starhaven, the city of the elves, to persuade both peoples to join the alliance.
Seraphine the Intrepid, Lyriana the Bright, and Borin the Gallant would cross the wild mountains to the Amazari forests and the dwarven stronghold of Stonegate, seeking warriors and ancient wisdom.
Before parting, Eldan led the company deep beneath the Great Torath, through winding tunnels and hidden doors, until they reached a vast cavern. There, illuminated by the flickering light of Eldan’s staff, stood the tomb of Torath the First—the primordial giant from whom all races of Eldoria were said to descend. The walls were covered in ancient carvings, telling the story of the first war against the darkness, the sealing of the Rift, and the prophecy of its return.
Peter gazed in awe at the carvings, feeling the weight of destiny settle on his shoulders. Eldan placed a reassuring hand on his back. “You are not alone, Peter. Remember what you have learned here. The fate of Eldoria may rest in your hands, but you have friends—and legends—at your side.”
With final farewells, the company split, each group setting out on their perilous journey. Peter’s group sailed down the mighty River Aurin, marveling at the beauty of the land and the ancient magic that lingered in the air. Along the way, Eldan taught Peter the secrets of the elements—earth, air, fire, and water. In a sacred Arcanari sanctuary, Peter glimpsed the true nature of the world, seeing the elements in harmony for the first time.
Meanwhile, Thalion and Durnan navigated the treacherous politics of the Gremlari clans and the elven courts, while Seraphine, Lyriana, and Borin braved the wilds and the growing tensions between the races.
The journey had begun, and the fate of Eldoria hung in the balance.
